On motherhood, low tox living, and ageing as a privilege.
A Quiet Kind of Mother's Day: Bec Jobson, in Her Own Words
There is a particular kind of woman who has stopped striving for a perfect version of motherhood and started living the real one.
Bec Jobson is one of them.
Mother of two, low tox advocate, long-time Rejuvaus lover.
We sat with her ahead of Mother's Day...
On motherhood
Mother's Day in your house. Loud tradition, or quieter than that?
Quieter. Tradition doesn't need to be loud. Ours is a slice of toast and a matcha delivered in bed. This year we're adding gratitude to the ritual. Sometimes the smallest things become the most memorable.
- "Tradition doesn't need to be loud or over the top."
You have two daughters. What's shifted in the way you think about motherhood since becoming one yourself?
The fact that we can feel so many things at once. Immense love, guilt, worry, happiness, confusion, all wrapped into one. I guess that is unconditional love. To feel it all and know there are no boundaries to it.
You go into motherhood wanting things to look a certain way, and it almost never does. I've learnt to be flexible, to let go.
Something your own mother taught you that you find yourself passing on?
She taught me to celebrate every part of my children. She was my biggest cheerleader, and I've taken that with me into parenting and life in general.

On living low tox
How would you describe low tox in practice?
A whole holistic experience. Living low tox now, with greenwashing and the over exposure to information online, can put unneeded pressure on you. The stress of it can be worse than slipping a little here or there.I try my best, not for perfection. But you can't forget to have fun.

One thing you've changed in your routine that you wouldn't go back from?
I will never go back from using Rejuvaus. Every person I introduce it to has the same reaction.
What was I doing before this?

On skin, ageing, and beauty
Your philosophy on ageing.
My mother was all about natural ageing. The most beautiful thing about her was her skin. I think that gave her the grace to embrace ageing.
I think of ageing as a privilege. We don't lose anything through age. We gain wisdom and knowledge, which is more important than looks. I want my daughters to grow up comfortable in their skin at every stage.
"Ageing is not declining beauty.
It is evolving into a new age of beauty."
On Rejuvaus
What made you trust Rejuvaus?
My friends have been getting treatments with Dr Garry Cussell and Sally Cussell for years, so I knew the reputation. I stayed for the results, and how quickly I saw them.
Australian, doctor-developed, clean. Which mattered most?
All of it. It's rare to find something that ticks every box. When I found Rejuvaus, I felt like I'd found a needle in a haystack.
